From Sustainability To Creativity

On one beautiful day this summer, I was taking a leisurely walk with friends on Market Street in San Francisco. Music was coming from a group of people at the middle of the sidewalk and drawing quite a bit of attention.

There were two guys playing some sort of instruments. One of them was having a lot of fun drumming empty containers of some building materials. There are also empty cans of paint, unwanted old pans, and other used stuff in his assortment of percussion. The other person was accompanying using a keyboard app on his iPad to a car-battery powered amplifier. Indeed they call themselves the All Junk Funk Band. They were obviously entertaining the people on the street and enjoying themselves too.

They sounded quite pleasant. Too bad I did not video record them. Luckily, I took a few pictures of them. Now you know what to do with your empty cans, containers and unwanted old pots and pans after your remodel. If you are not up to it, give them to your children or grandchildren. They would love to make music for you.
