The majority of basement bathrooms don't have windows, so basement bathroom installation plans should include lighting and ventilation options. Otherwise, you'll be creating a dark, unpleasant space that's a haven for mold and mildew. Think about where lighting will be desirable and choose fixtures that offer even, bright illumination without glare. Ambient light or indirect lighting can be a real help for people hoping to avoid that "cave" effect.

I completely agree with the previous post. I think that bathroom ventilation is so important for a comfortable bathroom. I have had too many experiences with that don't ventilate well or give off poor lighting, and it changes the entire feel of the bathroom. Not to mention that good ventilation is also important in keeping the walls and paint on the walls in good shape. Everything needs to breathe!

Humidity from showers in bathrooms are often sources of mold. mold can cause asthma and other respiratory problems. Use a ventilation fan to help control moisture to prevent mold growth.

One of the most important things in a bathroom is the fan. There are many different types, but you want to make sure that you are getting the moisture out of this space. If moisture lingers, it can ruin your paint and ultimately cause mold. It won't take long for you to notice if you are having issues as they will be visible.

Having a bathroom in the basement is always tricky. Just depending on the exhaust fan may not be enough since they do break. Making sure to keep the area dry is essential.

I too agree that having a ventilation or fan in a bathroom is must. Mold may cause suffocation which is not good for kids. And the humidity from showers also cause damage to the in bathroom.

Yes. A dehumidifier works well for us in the basement. It collects the moisture in the air and drain it to a container in the bottom. I empty it once a week. I can even use it to water my house plants upstairs.

Basement bathroom installation is a simple process and it does not require the owner to install a new plumbing system for the basement. The owner is saved from the trouble of spending a large sum of money as the plumbing system of the bathroom in the basement can be connected to the plumbing system of the rest of the house...
