Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorOur contractor suggested to replace our kitchen cabinet doors with composite cabinet doors. He said that he can match the composite cabinets doors with my existing cabinets so that I don't have to replace all the cabinets in the kitchen since they are still in pretty good condition. It sounds green to me. Any comments?
Re: Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorThe composite cabinets doors are usually made of plastic which usually require much less maintenance than their wooden counterparts, but some composite cabinets prone to fading or yellowing from sunlight. Check with your dealer about the warranty, specifically about sun damage and warpage.
There is a new kind of composite cabinet doors coming to the U.S. They are very popular in Europe and Easter Canada. They are made from profile-wrapped MDF moldings that are usually finished with vinyl films or polyester. Also check their warranty. If you choose to install them, be sure to open windows to air them as long as you can. Install them in the spring so that you have at least a whole summer to keep your windows open.
Re: Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorReface kitchen cabinets is less expensive than buying a whole new set of cabinets. You may ask for low or no VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) stain and coatings. Although it has low or no chemicals added to your home, I still suggest to air it for a couple of days if you can.

Re: Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorIf your cabinet doors look old and in good condition you can paint the whole cabinet of your favorite color. And they give you a different look. If their condition are not ideal, you can also reface them. Which the doors and drawer-fronts would be replaced. And the boxes would be covered with veneer. And they look new again.

Re: Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorHey guys can you please give me the ideas that how much is it to replace kitchen cabinet doors. Small kitchen guestimate? Need your help guys,.
Re: Replace Kitchen Cabinet DoorThe cost for refacing cabinets depends on the size of your kitchen, the materials you choose and how many options you elect to include, such as trim, molding, valences, new toekick, shelf and drawer liners, etc. And also depends where you live. It costs rough a third of the new cabinets. It would cost you about $3000 if the new cabinets cost $10000. Make sure to get references and ask lots of questions.
