Re: HVAC for Tax Credits?I did not get to replace my 30 years old furnace and add more insulation to my house when the federal government offered tax credits for energy efficiency improvement last year? Is there a chance the tax credits be extended?
Re: HVAC for Tax Credits?The government did not extend the original tax credit $1500. Instead it extended the tax credit of $500. However, tax credits are still available at 30% of the cost, with no upper limit, through 2016 (for existing homes & new construction - it does not have to be your "principal residence"). They are Geothermal Heat, Solar Panels, Solar Water Heaters, Small Wind Energy Systems.

Re: HVAC for Tax Credits?Federal tax credit on energy efficiency is still available until December 31, 2013. Credit is limited to $500. Not all equipments can claim $500, such as windows are eligible for $200. Check with IRS or Energy Star website. Furnaces, and Central Air conditioners are eligible, as well as Water Heaters, Boilers, Heat pumps, Building Insulation, Windows, Roofs, Circulating fans used in a qualifying furnace.
