Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierAt a trade show last month, and saw Toto has a new product, a one gallon per flush toilet. It's been out for a few months. I was at a couple of plumbing supply stores lately and haven't seen it. But saw it on National Builder Supply's website. One gallon per flush can save a lot of water.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierI saw a Glacier Bay dual flush at Home Depot costs only $150. 1.0 gallon per flush for liquid wastes and 1.28 gallon per flush for solid wastes. I'm thinking of replacing my old toilets with that. It can save quite a bit of water.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierAt the Water Show in SF I saw Niagara makes water conservation toilets use only .80 gallon per flush. With Toto came out with 1 gallon per flush last year and Niagara with .80 gallon per flush this year. These are huge water savings. I wonder which manufacturer is going to come up with .60 gallon per flush!
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierThere are many ways to save water and having a native garden is one of them. A native garden needs little or no water. There are Bay-friendly Garden Tour and Bringing Back the Native Garden Tour in the Bay Area in the spring.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierTry to use your clothes washer machine and dishwasher only when they are full, it saves too much water, while you can also use laundries to clean your cloth. You should have covers on the pools and spas and try to have maintenance around water pumps.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierCertain two facts on this post unequivocally the best we have all had. When cleaning dishes by hand, do not let the water run while cleaning. Complete one strain with fresh the water and the other with fresh the water.

Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierGood reminder Austin8100. Actually, a water company said that washing dishes by hand use more water than by dishwasher. And it encouraged people to use dishwasher to clean dishes to save water. I guess they figured that most people let the water running while washing dishes.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierOf course, if we use the dishwasher we also use electricity. From the consumers point of view, maybe it's about the same. you either save energy or water. Can't do both.
Re: To Make Conserving Water EasierI am totally agree with the above members about the topic and think that water may cause of many serious problems like the birth of pests and others insects which is not good for us.
